Anchorage, Alaska—In a significant honor to veterans and active-duty military members in Alaska, Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer will visit the state on Medal of Honor Day, March 25th. During his visit, Sgt. Meyer will make stops at the Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities in Anchorage and Fairbanks, as well as the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital.
Sgt. Dakota Meyer, a distinguished Marine Corps veteran, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism during the Battle of Ganjgal in September 2009 in Afghanistan. His visit to Alaska underscores a continuing commitment to supporting military personnel and veterans and highlighting the importance of their service and sacrifices.
The visit schedule includes engagements at the VA Anchorage and Fairbanks, where Sgt. Meyer will meet with veterans, share his experiences, and offer support to those who have served. Additionally, his visit to the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital is particularly noteworthy, as this facility is renowned for providing comprehensive care to veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health issues.
